Associate or Professional Cloud Architect on GCP?
Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect?
Google Cloud offers two certifications for cloud professionals: Associate Cloud Engineer (ACE) and Professional Cloud Architect (PCA). ACE covers deployment and management of Google Cloud services. PCA targets solution architecture, infrastructure decisions, and production environment design.
In short: Start with ACE if you deploy and manage Google Cloud services. Progress to PCA after gaining operational experience and if you architect complex enterprise solutions.

ACE focuses on deploying, configuring, and managing Google Cloud resources: VMs, networking, storage, containers, and managed services. Candidates work with the GCP Console, CLIs, and APIs.
PCA requires designing complete architectures: understanding business needs, selecting appropriate services, optimizing costs, ensuring security and compliance, planning for scalability and performance.
Overlap: Both test knowledge of Google Cloud services (Compute, Networking, Storage), but ACE emphasizes execution while PCA focuses on strategic design.
